This week composer Teddy Castellucci is at the Newman Scoring Stage at Twentieth Century Fox to record his score to the upcoming comedy, My Super Ex-Girlfriend.

The film, directed by Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters, Evolution), stars Luke Wilson as a man who dumps his superhero girlfriend (Uma Thurman), and she uses her powers to make his life hell.

Conducted by Pete Anthony, the 88-piece Hollywood Studio Symphony performed the score, which was orchestrated by Jeff Atmajian and Carl Rydlund and mixed by Shawn Murphy.

The score contains large orchestral action that is befitting for a superhero movie, with strong brass lines, and solid melodies.

Reitman was very engaged with Castellucci during the scoring sessions, making suggestions such as increasing the dymanics in certain areas, or trying out different approaches to the end of a cue.

My Super Ex-Girlfriend will be released by Twentieth Century Fox on July 21, 2006.
